Hi, I read your many articles in *Quercus* and am impressed by (and share) your environmental sensibility. I’m a budding woodworker who is living in the Missouri Ozarks (south of West Plains, 20 minutes from the Arkansas line) and am looking to meet like-minded woodworkers. I will be taking a class with Mark Hicks (in Ozark, Missouri) but someday hope to make your acquaitance, if such were ever possible. Best wishes, Garret Olberding

Hey, Garret! Nice to make your acquaintance! I really enjoyed writing for Quercus. It was a great experience, writing for a woodworking magazine! It was something I’d been wanting to do for many years.

Mark is a great guy and an excellent woodworker. You should have a good time in his class. I have a kit for his shave horse; I need to get it built! I have Mark’s first workbench he ever made. I bought it from him after Handworks 2017. Best woodworking purchase I’ve ever made, as far as how much it positively impacted my woodworking. Ask him how I got it home! He was absolutely floored that it fit. Please tell him I said hi.

For sure, Garret, if you’re ever going to be up in the St. Peters area, let me know and we can figure something out.

I’ve been on a bit of a social media break for the last six months, but I think I’ll be ramping it up a little bit in the near future. Hopefully working on the blog again, as well.
